Have been using it for a month now. Here are my thoughts
- Sheer, my-skin-but-better coverage.
- Dewy finish once it set into skin (combination skin).
- significantly fills & blurs pores
- moderately covers redness & veins (I can still identify redness around nose & veins)
- does not cover a healing pimple scar
- no scent
- Does not feel like have foundie on face. I do not wear foundation daily; it I brothers me when I can feel I am wear something.
- Lasts 8 hours on me with touch ups with KGD pressed setting powder (dry office environment).
- It starts to disappear after 10 hrs of wear. But it does not make my face look weird. it simply disappeared....
- best applied with fingers (ironically...) My 20mm Kolinsky brush does not work as well as fingers; damped Takeda flat top goat foundie makes skin too matt. Maybe I will try a beauty blender or a KGD sponge.
- Skin does not feel tired or dull after wearing it for a full day. Because most foundies do make my skin condition worse after a full day of wear, I do not wear foundie at all before KGD. This really says something. (I did not even wear foundation for my graduation photo.)
Their pressed foundie is also a HG for me. However KGD japan site discontinued mine and launched a new formulation.
I have surveyed a lot of foundie from sephora but I am too picky I guess. This is definitely the one and only keeper for me. Sephora has a huge mark up. I am planning to get all my future KGD products via Toshiya. It will still be cheaper after serve fee, shipping, custom, & tax charge.
Koh Gen Do aqua foundation!
Re: Koh Gen Do aqua foundation!

I do have their loose powder which I LOVE!! Has similar finish as the G meteorites balls and compact. It does blure the imperfections and doesn't have shimmer at all plus it doesn't make yr base matte, which I hate abt lots of finising powder out there!
Definitely worth the try!

Melissa, good to know about the loose powder. I'll have to look into that. If you find a shade that matches you, please let me know. The 143 was the closest to my skintone but a touch too light, so I would probably have to mix it with a darker shade for a better fit. I did love the feel and finish of it.

Re: Koh Gen Do aqua foundation!
Thanks for the post, dusty. I have been on a foundation quest for a long time. I have ruled out so many!
KGD is a little hard to try, now that sephoras in my area seem to have stopped carrying the line (US/LA). But I think I will see about getting myself some to try.
For some reason, especially interested in the powder foundation.
