Hello everyone, i have been a member of this forum for a while now, i have comented a few times but havent introduced myself so i think its time:

My name is Karla, im a stay at home mom, and im getting a little obsessed with brushes. My interest on makeup brushes started like 3 years ago, when i received a estee lauder holiday set that it had a few brushes with it, i started using the brushes but they werent soft or had good shape so my searching for good makeup brushes begun on the internet on Youtube, blogs etc and mac was still very popular, so decided to go with mac, my first brush purchase was the mac 217 and i loved it but my interest on brushes was growing... Thats when i found hakuhodo, but at first i couldnt order them because of the prices and i was afraid i wouldnt like them enough so i got 4 more mac face brushes and thats where i realized that regarding softeness and quality i wanted more, and finally ordered from hakuhodo. I couldnt belive that they shipped so fast, and they were so beautiful, so soft that i decided to only buy Japanese made brushes from now on. This past saturday i ordered my first chikuhodo brush, i wanted to go big so i ordered from the Z series, i got the z8 and OMG... i feel so special to have this brush, its just PERFECT, i ordered this one since i only have the mac 116 cheek brush but its just so scratchy and 2 days ago i oredered my first koyudo brush the fupa14 to replace my mac 182. Im so glad i found this forum where i can share my thoughts on my favorite topic: makeup brushes, as you can imagine i have no one to talk about brushes in real life so its feels sooo good to have people who i can share with my obsession. At the momment i dont plan to grow a huge brush collection but since mine is so small (only 16 brushes!!!) i have space to add a few great quality, hand made beautiful brushes that i know will last me many years.
Ps: please excuse my english, im from México so some times my words come out mixed lol

Thankyou so much everyone for being so helpful to people like me who are just starting out on this obsession and thankyou so much Sonia for creating this forum incredible forum :ty:

Hi Karla, welcome to the forum og SMUTville :D

I don't either have anybody IRL to share my interest in brushes with. I.e. except my 17-year old daughter who also uses my brushes.

Recently I asked her if she wanted the Fu-Pa13 and in which colour, as it was now also in blue. And she answered: "Does it matter? It's just a brush". So I cannot count her in among the truly addicted

She just came home from skiiing with her highschool where she had shared a chalet with some other girls. And one of them loved the Chikuhodo Z-2 for contour that she had brought with her. So it may be spreading slowly. My daughter asked if I could order one for her that she could give her friend as a present for her upcoming birthday, but she passed when she heard the price :o :D

We one day talked about all the things one has to get when moving on your own from home, and then she said: "I'm mostly concerned about all the brushes and makeup of yours that I won't have that day". So maybe she should start collecting her most necessary appointments for when she leaves home

Hey,Karla. Warm welcome to another fellow brush nut... Just like Jeanette, I had no one at all to share this obsession/addiction and so when I stumbled upon this blog late last year i was ecstatic!!! You will certainly have a lot of fun with all the enabling going on! My daughter is 7 and i recently bought a set of mini Fu-pas which I have yet to give her. She loves my brushes and actually refused to use the Guerlain blush brush saying it's so scratchy... I guess there is a brush nut in the making!!!

Oh yes, i have a 4 year old daughter who likes to watch me putting on makeup and when she sees my brushes she is like "Mommy look, they are magic wands! So soft!" And im like yes they are LOL she loves to feel the bristles on her face, so mine is also a brush nut in the making. I bought my first chikuhodo brush the z8 and got her name engraved on it, hopefully these brushes will last me a long time so i can pass them to her :)
